Terry brought in the truck loaded with the larger stone slabs and we started putting a jigsaw puzzle together! A few corners and angles were smoothed together with the help of a saw but for the most part we worked with the original shapes.
Each piece had to be levelled and screenings filled in and/or removed to set them in place. The slabs ranged in thickness from 2-4". Once the pieces were set in place more screenings were swept and stuffed and poked into the seams! Everything was than watered in and more screenings stuffed into the crevasses. This process was then repeated on the second level of
the patio over to where the side gate would eventually be.

Will you be stuffing the cracks with thyme, scotch mosses etc?
